Pound cake is in fact an old-fashioned cake type. Why is a pound cake called as a pound cake? It is because in the old days, the total weight of all the ingredients needed for one pound cake equals to one pound. But now, pound cake is more healthier with less sugar, less oil and even some of the ingredients are replaced by healthier options.

The first pound cake came to my life was Sara Lee. Wow I could still remember the great taste especially when I had my first bite right after the cake taken out from the fridge. It was so buttery and rich. I like the original all butter taste as well as the double chocolate too!
